How to set the RoR within the RI

 

The following article and its screenshots refer to the Roasting Intelligence (RI5). 

In case you previously used the Roasting Intelligence (RI4) we kindly invite you to check the newly improved features of RI5. 

To upgrade to RI5, please download the Roasting Intelligence (RI5).

 

Rate of Rise (RoR) setup

To set up the RoR within the Roasting Intelligence (RI), follow the steps below: 

  1. Login to the Roasting Intelligence (RI).
  2. Navigate to the gear-png-2 Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen. 
  3. Select the Roasting tab and select Rate of Rise (RoR).

  4. Choose between Recommended, Sensitive, Noise smoothing, then select your preferred Time expression unit.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes. 

💡 We suggest using the recommended (standard) RoR curve setting. The time expression doesn't affect the RoR calculation, but only shows your preferred measurement unit for temperature increments (default: 60s).

Disable/enable RoR for a measurement

  1. Log into the Roasting Intelligence (RI).
  2. Navigate to the gear-png-2 Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen. 
  3. Select the Roasting tab and Machine configuration

  4. Scroll down to the Measurements section
  5. Toggle the button green to enable the RoR curve.
    💡Click the toggle button gray to disable the RoR curve.
  6. Click Save to apply the changes.

Troubleshooting


If the RoR has been turned on, but it still does not display from your chart mid-roast, please follow the instructions below to reset the RoR to its default ranges:

  1. Log into the Roasting Intelligence (RI).
  2. Navigate to the gear-png-2 Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen. 
  3. Select the Roasting tab and Charts and comments.

  4. Click the Reset chart axes button.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.
